Cutting-edge LED technology in football stadium

From planning to completion, the modernisation of the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig was an exciting project.

Challenge

The modern football stadium Red Bull Arena in Leipzig desires the exchange of the old display system and its sub-structure. In near future two LED video displays of cutting-edge technology shall provide the high-quality presentation of game information and live broadcasting and also be an attractive advertising platform for sponsors and media partners.

Solution

After our assembling team had demounted the old display and the entire sub-structure, the new steel construction was built. To meet the customer’s requirements we installed two 90 m² S[quadrat] SO[10 SMD] NT Light LED video displays. With a pixel pitch of only 10 mm we can achieve a real resolution of 1,280 x 704 pixels per screen, which means an excellent image quality. Both video screens will be played by our content management system SX[ScoreboardTV], individually adjusted for football games. All information will be displayed in real-time during the game. The scoring, line-up, portraits of the players, advertisement of the sponsors and much more can be arranged depending on the customer’s requirements. Our powerful stadium displays persuaded at many games of the “Rote Bullen” and performed brilliantly at the European Championship qualifying match Germany vs. Georgia in 2015.
